Joanne initially became aware of the crippling effects anxiety can have on a person when working as a therapist for a charity in war torn Bosnia. It is through Clinical Hypnotherapy that Joanne came to recognise how these symptoms can be the same regardless of their cause, and how Hypnotherapy can help with all anxiety based symptoms.
Joanne qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist with the Clifton Practice, a recognised centre for excellence where she gained her DHP and HPD diplomas, considered the ‘gold standards’ for the field.
Through further ongoing learning and continued professional development (CPD) Joanne is able to stay abreast of the latest techniques and findings within the field. This ensures her clients always receive the most appropriate treatments available.
As well as being fully insured, Joanne is a professional member of The National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH), and therefore subject to their Code of Ethics. Joanne is also a member of the following professional bodies.
- The National Hypnotherapy Society
- The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy
- Association for Solution Focussed Hypnotherapists
- The General Hypnotherapy Register
- Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
Adhering to the strict rules and regulations of these bodies Joanne attends professional supervision on a regular basis.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist Joanne has been able to assist many people in freeing their lives from the crippling constraints of many anxiety based symptoms including depression, self harming, poor self esteem, fear, disturbed sleep, lack of confidence, phobias and OCD.
Joanne is a mother of two and has lived in Brixham since 1988. She has been involved in the healing profession since 1997.
